Tomb Raider (Mac App Store) Xbox Series Controller Fix
We’re off to a great start! Not only does the Mac App Store version of Tomb Raider cost way too much, never go on sale, and still ship as an Intel app — Xbox Series gamepads don’t work out of the box. The game just doesn’t detect it. There is an annoying fix, but it’s doable.
- Grab the
XboxSeriesBluetooth.plistfile from axu2’s Feral Interactive Mac Controllers repo on GitHub. - Right-click Tomb Raider in the Applications folder and click Show Package Contents.
- Navigate to Resources > Input Devices and drop the downloaded plist in there.
- Close the game if it’s open, then relaunch it.
- You should see a controller detected in the Feral Launcher.
After that, it should be smooth sailing.
It’s really stupid this has to be done, and I don’t get why this is allowed on the App Store. It’s obvious someone doesn’t care here, which is a bummer. This should be an easy, accessible, affordable way to play a game on a Mac for the curious — but instead, we just find weird hurdles.
